California Jump$tart Coalition – Call for Board Members

Your support of the California Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy is much appreciated. At the moment, we have nearly 3,900 individuals on our mailing lists who care about and are involved in efforts to improve the financial literacy of California’s youth. Every day we see the growing impact of all our efforts. Thank you.

As the Board of California Jump$tart looks forward to another successful year, we are expanding our Board of Directors. If you are interested in joining our all-volunteer Board to share your vision, time and energy in helping to further the cause of personal financial literacy for kids, please contact us. If you know of someone who might be interested in volunteering, please forward this to them.

As a Board member, there are four Board meetings a year that you would attend, in addition to participating in one or more of our key projects. Our goals for the organization in the next two years call for activities in several areas:

  • Helping California teachers understand their own finances better, through a two-day educational seminar provided at no cost to school districts.
  • Helping teachers and other financial education providers choose materials for the classroom more effectively, by expanding our current resources guides, with the help of teachers.
  • Becoming more aware and active in legislative and regulatory activities in Sacramento that affect financial literacy, and sharing this information with our financial literacy partners.
  • Helping the many organizations and individuals working in this area to collectively meet the goal of financial literacy for all California youth.

CA Jump$tart is affiliated with the National Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. Statewide, CA Jump$tart is a coalition of organizations and individuals who share a commitment to the financial education of youth. Working collaboratively, more resources and expertise are available to accomplish this critical task.

If you are interested in joining the Board, or want more information on the objectives of the Coalition or the responsibilities of the Board, please feel free to contact us at
