Coronavirus scams are spreading. With requests for false charity donations and offers of vaccines, treatments, and cheap supplies, scammers are trying to take advantage of consumers’ pandemic fears. Companies are selling products with false claims they can prevent or cure the Coronavirus. By law, these companies would need evidence to back up their claims. Instead, they are selling products without the necessary proof or approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). At this point, according to the FDA, “there are no approved vaccines, drugs or products currently available to treat or prevent the virus.”
